Baiyun Mountain – Fairyland in Luoyang
Located in the hinterland of the Funiu Mountains in Song County, Luoyang, Henan Province, Baiyun Mountain is a national 5A-level scenic area, national forest park and world geopark, covering an area of 168 square kilometers.
Praised as "Fairyland on Earth", it boasts a forest coverage rate over 98.5% and is known as a natural museum with rich flora and fauna resources. Yuhuang Summit, standing at 2216 meters above sea level, is the highest peak in Central China, famous for breathtaking sunrise and sea-of-cloud views.
The scenic area integrates magnificent peaks, waterfalls, primitive forests and alpine meadows. Cool in summer with the maximum temperature below 26℃, it is a popular summer retreat for sightseeing, hiking and vacation in the Central Plains.
