On May 30, the inbound tourism promotion event “Explore Henan, Decipher China” kicked off in Anyang. Packed with actionable industry insights, the promotional forum unlocked the core secrets behind Henan’s booming global popularity as a cultural tourism destination. Tourism ambassadors representing four ancient capitals—Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, Luoyang and Anyang—took the stage one after another to roll out premium inbound travel itineraries tailor-made for international tourists. Integrating in-depth historical study tours, authentic Kung Fu experiences, mountain getaways and immersive folk culture activities, these routes connect landmark sites including the Yin Ruins, Longmen Grottoes, Shaolin Temple and Millennium City Park, forming a full set of market-ready travel products available for immediate cooperation with overseas tour operators.
“Each itinerary strikes a fine balance between distinctive local cultural identity and international practicability: it preserves authentic Central Plains charm while catering to overseas tourists’ travel preferences,” remarked Qiu Weihong, a Malaysian travel operator. Henan’s cultural tourism packages have gained growing popularity among Malaysian travelers, and his firm plans to incorporate homegrown trending local IPs such as Mixue and Pandonglai into future itineraries. By pairing time-honored history with contemporary pop culture, they aim to present a refreshed, diverse image of Henan to global visitors.
